Secure Your Success: Cyber Solutions for the Modern Manufacturer
As production equipment becomes more connected through the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart digital technologies, manufacturers have increasingly become a target for sophisticated cyberattacks. Attempts to target infrastructure, IP, supplier/customer and financial data using ransomware and phishing techniques continue to increase. Data breaches are prolific and the damage to manufacturers' bottom line and reputation should not be underestimated.
Manufacturers must take proactive measures to protect their businesses and supply chain by adopting robust cybersecurity solutions and services. SCC can support this with service offerings including Pen Testing, Security Operation Centres, Manage Detection and Incident Response (MXDR) as well as Vulnerability Management and security awareness training.
Manufacturers have a rapidly expanding attack surface with multiple connected devices, endpoints, users and third-party suppliers, making it more important than ever to make sure their business has an extensive solution in place that can offer suitable protection.
SCC’s MXDR service offers round-the-clock protection across your entire estate. This service ensures faster resolution times, lower security costs and smarter proactive prevention tactics from supplier risk across your entire estate so you can rest assured your security is taken care of.
The risk of noncompliance has become an increasingly major concern in recent years, particularly for manufacturers with operations in multiple countries and jurisdictions. The growing array of regulations becomes more challenging to meet due to the increasing role of governmental regulatory bodies in certain industry sectors, along with the emergence of global manufacturing compliance standards to address the increasingly global nature of the industry.
SCC's Managed Vulnerability Scanning service ensures you have experienced individuals armed with industry leading tools on hand to identify, classify and prioritise weaknesses based on risk. We will also provide strategic recommendations on how to effectively mitigate vulnerabilities, so you can stay one step ahead of potential threat actors.
While implementing strong cybersecurity measures is essential, manufacturers need a partner that can help deliver proactive cyber and compliance services to protect now and for the future. SCC is one of the highest accredited cybersecurity providers and one of only a handful of members of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA) program, that offers a comprehensive suite of cybersecurity services, designed to evolve as your business matures.
Our team of cybersecurity specialists has extensive experience working with manufacturers of all sizes. We understand the unique challenges you face and can provide expert guidance tailored to your specific needs.

Aspen Pumps Group (Aspen/ the Group) is a fast-growing manufacturer and distributor of innovative, distinctive products for the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) industry. In 2023, six companies joined the Group. Aspen had no internal security team and had outsourced their security operations to a leading cyber security provider. In their final year with the incumbent, they looked for a new provider to address the challenges that came with their plans for rolling acquisitions.
SCC had been selected to deliver a managed service solution to Aspen, comprising of a shared helpdesk, asset management, hardware build, break/fix and desktop support. As part of their ongoing service reviews, Aspen raised the challenge of delivering a fit for purpose Security Operation Centre (SOC) with SCC.
It was critical that the SOC would reduce the complexity and technical debt associated with multiple platforms, be effective from day one and allow smaller businesses to continue to operate effectively and efficiently without exposing the broader Group to unacceptable risk.
Given the geographic spread of the Group, it was vital that any solution still facilitated local support arrangements, while allowing Aspen to implement a set of centralised security policies within a Group-wide governance framework.
SCC delivered a detailed workshop and design proposal for the new solution in less than one month, focused around the Microsoft security platform. We collaborated with Aspen to produce a solution using Microsoft Defender, InTune and Sentinel to reduce the existing eight platforms into one, allowing Aspen to accelerate security control and improvements for acquisitions.
SCC were able to guide the Group through the complexities of the Microsoft licensing model to ensure that they purchased the correct licenses and that they were purchased at the right time to keep the additional spend to a minimum whilst Aspen navigated the move from local to centralised licensing and from Business Premium to the Enterprise E3/5 model.
Through the implementation, SCC and Aspen worked closely together, along with the other established third parties in some of the international locations. SCC ensured that the project was completed in two months, on time and to budget. The project successfully migrated 300 users and 20 servers in 11 companies across nine countries, to platform, without any material impact to Aspen colleagues.
