Cloud Services
Business Reimagined: Connecting your Customers, People and Data for Secure Scalable Growth
Cloud solutions can significantly enhance the agility, flexibility and ability of financial services and insurance organisations to meet the evolving expectations of their customers. Despite the clear benefits, such as faster response to customer demands, increased competitiveness and cost reduction, financial services and insurance organisations have been hesitant to fully embrace public cloud solutions due to concerns about data privacy and security.
Given the highly sensitive nature of financial data and the stringent regulatory environment, this reluctance is understandable. However, adopting a hybrid cloud strategy could provide a balanced approach, offering both robust data protection and the advantages of cloud technology.
Many financial services and insurance firms are looking to modernise their legacy infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency, improve security and meet evolving customer demands. Legacy systems often lack the flexibility and scalability needed to support new technologies and regulatory requirements, making them more vulnerable to cyber threats and operational disruptions. Modern infrastructure enables financial services and insurance organisations to leverage data analytics, AI and cloud technologies, providing more tailored and efficient services to customers and ensuring compliance with stringent security and regulatory standards.
SCC helps companies invest in scalable cloud platforms to migrate and modernise their infrastructure, setting you up for a successful future in the cloud. Our team of experts will consult with you on the best way forward using our pathfinder engagements to ensure you are on the right track to success.
Hybrid cloud allows financial and insurance organisations to centralise the management of their IT environments, making it easier to implement security measures like encryption and access control across the entire cloud infrastructure. This approach mitigates the complexity and visibility issues associated with mixed architectures. Additionally, hybrid cloud solutions enable you to comply more effectively with changing regulations, providing greater protection and security than traditional on-premises data management.
By leveraging SCC’s hybrid cloud offering, financial and insurance organisations can achieve digital resilience, benefiting from the cloud's advantages while ensuring the necessary levels of security and governance.
Cloud platforms enable the rapid deployment of applications and services, allowing financial and insurance organisations to quickly adapt to market changes and launch new products. By leveraging cloud-based data analytics and AI, companies can gain deeper insights into customer behaviour, enhance fraud detection and personalise services, leading to improved customer experiences and operational efficiencies.
Additionally, cloud platforms facilitate experimentation and collaboration, providing a sandbox environment for testing new ideas without significant upfront investment. This fosters a culture of innovation, encouraging continuous improvement and agility within the organisation. Through the integration of APIs and microservices, financial services and insurance organisations can seamlessly connect various systems and leverage third-party services to build comprehensive, innovative solutions that meet modern customer demands and regulatory requirements.
As a leading cloud partner, SCC will help you uncover these benefits and help you foster a culture of innovation, one that drives forward success of your business, underpinned by technology.

Lancashire Insurance are a provider of global specialty insurance and reinsurance products operating in Bermuda and London across three delivery platforms: rated company, Lloyd’s and collateralised security. Their focus is on short-tail, specialty (re)insurance risks within four general segments: Property, Energy, Marine and Aviation.
Lancashire Insurance were looking for an IT partner who could support not only their short term objective of new services being enabled in the cloud, but also their long term objective of enabling all of their services in the cloud and modernising their IT infrastructure. Additionally, Lancashire had recently made a number of acquisitions which were operating independent back-office IT systems. To simplify the IT environment for all employees they wanted to consolidate these systems.
Lancashire awarded this opportunity to SCC following a previous successful engagement. We displayed the credibility and skills required to deliver the service and the scale to flex in line with their growth. SCC were engaged to design the solution and build a road map for application/service migration.
The expertise and knowledge of SCC’s resource was key to supporting and leading them on their transformation journey. We helped to demonstrate what their future operating model would look like and the support pillars which were required. As part of this we delivered training sessions to the internal IT team to upskill them in line with the environment improvements. Microsoft Azure was chosen as the hosting platform, as they wanted a best of breed cloud provider and were comfortable with SCC’s skill level in Azure deployment and management.
By consolidating the disparate back-office systems onto one cloud platform, SCC has helped to not only reduce the cost associated with maintaining multiple IT environments but also improved the service received by end users. As part of the roadmap architectural work, SCC discovered areas of potential cost savings which were highlighted to the customer, for future consideration.
Following the successful delivery of the new Azure environment, SCC have become a trusted advisor for Lancashire, extending our support service lines to include ServiceNow and SD-WAN to further underpin their essential business operations and support their employees. The new environment has modernised Lancashire Insurance’s business operations, by delivering a scalable platform which can deliver services to support the business’s future growth aspirations. It allows them to become more agile and flexible, quickly bringing new service lines to market in line with their customers’ expectations and needs. It also offers their employees new ways of working, to increase productivity and workforce wellbeing.
