Network Services
Transform and drive exponential growth
In today’s fast-paced construction industry, reliable and high-performing networks are no longer a luxury - they’re a necessity. As on-site teams work around the clock to maintain project schedules, share real-time data, and ensure safety compliance, the network infrastructure must keep pace. SCC offers modern, next-generation networking solutions that transform how construction projects operate from the ground up.
Private 5G networks deliver robust, low-latency connectivity tailored to the unique needs of a construction site. Whether you’re running real-time analytics on heavy machinery, streaming HD video for remote safety inspections, or ensuring instantaneous communication between personnel, private 5G provides unparalleled coverage and speed. By eliminating the congestion often found on Wi-Fi networks, construction companies can achieve higher performance, improved security and far greater control over network resources.
In the early stages of any construction project, fast and dependable connectivity is vital for maintaining operational efficiency. Rather than waiting weeks for fixed broadband lines to be installed, SCC leverages cellular or satellite solutions for near-instant connectivity. This rapid setup enables project managers to immediately connect devices, coordinate teams, and streamline workflows. Satellite options, such as Starlink, are particularly useful for remote or hard-to-reach sites where terrestrial infrastructure may not be accessible or cost-effective.
SCC’s “site in a box” solution packages enterprise-grade networking equipment into ruggedised, protective enclosures. These durable boxes withstand harsh construction site conditions, providing continuous, secure networking for your teams. Our cookie-cutter approach offers a range of networking equipment tailored for small, medium, and large sites, ensuring price predictability due to its standardised setup.
When a project concludes, SCC can assist in recovering all of your networking equipment and storing it in our secure warehouse. Instead of purchasing and installing new kit for each site, you can redeploy existing hardware, significantly reducing costs and minimising environmental impact. Our “as a service” model removes the complexities of owning and maintaining networking infrastructure. We handle everything from collection and storage to reconfiguration and reinstallation at your next building site.
SCC’s holistic approach covers every stage of your construction network’s lifecycle - from initial design and vendor selection to post-deployment support. Our partnerships with leading suppliers such as Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, HPE Aruba, Juniper, Ericsson and Cradlepoint, mean we deliver the most appropriate solutions for your specific requirements. With comprehensive pre-sales and delivery expertise, we conduct on-site surveys, audits, and assessments to optimise your network infrastructure. Once your network is up and running, our dedicated support desk provides prompt break-fix services and managed support, leaving you free to focus on completing your build.
If you’re looking to modernise your construction site connectivity, now is the time to act. SCC can help you design, deploy, and manage a networking environment that enhances productivity, boosts safety, and streamlines project execution. We invite you to arrange a Proof of Concept (POC) with us or take advantage of our complimentary assessments to review your current network state. Discover how SCC’s next-generation networking solutions can elevate your construction projects and give you a competitive edge. Contact us today to build a smarter, more connected future.
Home Group were looking to build a new head office and they needed a completely new and comprehensive network solution. The office was planned to be an interactive hub where up to 700 colleagues could be working at any one time.
As the purpose of this head office was for people collaboration and networking, constant connectivity between floors was needed to support network teams, telephony, corporate applications etc.
With limited network skills within their internal IT department, they wanted a modern, cloud managed network which was simple and straightforward to manage. Due to this skills shortage the network in their previous head office was unmaintained causing the user experience of the Wi-Fi to be poor, as it didn’t always work and was very slow.
Home Group needed a partner to design, supply, install and provide a managed service provision.
Home Group engaged with SCC for the implementation of wired and wireless networking to support users at the new site. Home Group identified that a Cisco Meraki solution would provide the Enterprise class functionality required to support their business, whilst supporting a ‘lean IT’ approach due to its streamlined cloud-based management dashboard.
Prior to the implementation we preconfigured the Cisco Meraki equipment on to the dashboard and fully configured the access points. This meant once we were allowed onto site by the contractors all we needed to do was patch in Meraki through the cabling.
Following the building opening, we now manage and monitor their network and have read access to the Meraki dashboard so we can triage any networking issues. By building an open and collaborative relationship we have evolved our relationship with Home Group from being consultancy into a fully managed service contract.
We have received extremely positive user feedback and the network continues to be reliable and robust.
