Outcomes we enable:
SCC is the primary IT supplier to Babcock. Our services are in place for Babcock to provide reliable installations, moves, additions and changes (IMAC) across their IT estate. We provide approximately 450 devices per month to the corporation.
With over 27,000 end user compute (EUC) devices to support across the corporation, SCC has developed highly efficient processes for Babcock to order items and have them delivered to their users at any one of their 350 sites across the UK.
All of the devices we supply to Babcock are processed through our Lifecycle Services. These services include configuration, asset tagging, dispatch and life support for all equipment. To ensure limited disruption to the everyday running of the corporation, SCC hold between 400 – 500 devices in stock at any time for Babcock. SCC also provide Babcock with break/fix cover for all deployed equipment.
In addition to the EUC devices, SCC supplied over 3,000 network switches for Babcock and our Document Services team have implemented a managed print service across their main sites.
Using SCC as their primary IT supplier has given Babcock many new advantages. The most significant improvement they have seen so far is the delivery time for IT products. With their previous supplier, Babcock were dealing with approximately 21 days between order and delivery. SCC’s capabilities ensure that we deliver IT in four days, with a five day installation period at the user’s desk.
Alongside improved delivery times, Babcock now have access to an internal catalogue of IT equipment provided by SCC. The catalogue is regularly updated and maintained to ensure that Babcock and their users can order the equipment they need.
SCC have built a trusted working relationship with Babcock. This is highlighted by the reassurance that all SCC engineers are SC cleared and that SCC is a secure supplier. We adhere to the stringent security processes and procedures that Babcock have to use, both in our delivery and throughout our supply chain.
